REVIEW: New Mutants #33 (X-Men Regenesis)

There are a lot of good things happening with this book both inside and out. All of the X-titles have new logos on their covers as part of X-Men: Regenesis courtesy of designer Jared Fletcher. This was the first time I’d really looked at his New Mutants logo and I like it a lot, particularly the

X-Men: Regenesis begins this November

For the past two weeks, Marvel Comics has been releasing a set of their trademark silhouetted teaser images, this time focusing on the X-Men line. With the promise of big changes to the X-Men’s status quo following the current Schism series by Jason Aaron, these teasers suggest a very different landscape for Marvel’s mutants beyond Cyclops simply

Wednesday’s Comics for 8/10/2011

Every week I’m part of a group that shares their comic book pull lists over at reddit.com/r/comicbooks. It’s a great way to discuss what you’re reading and sharing it with the MLD community seemed natural. Also, I won’t get my books until Saturday this week and talking about them helps temper the anticipation.

MMXI: Marvel’s Year of the X-Men begins this May

When Marvel’s May solicitations appeared earlier this month a group of books were very conspicuous by their absence. Four X-Men titles (Uncanny X-Men, X-Men: Legacy, New Mutants, and Uncanny X-Force) had no listings and it was clear that something was up. Last week Marvel released a set of teaser images for these titles and they’re

Prof. Xavier’s Lonely Hearts Club Mutants

A Marvel press release on Friday provided an advance preview of Marvel’s X-Men #7 from the new series by Victor Gischler. I’m not sure why the preview was released now since #6 hasn’t shipped yet, but I have a pretty good guess as Spider-Man joins the X-Men for this story arc. Many fans have been critical

We Are The X-Men

I’m loving the current X-Men: Second Coming storyline as you may have read about here. Rather than just ride that wave, Marvel has released a series of images for May’s X-Men books reading “We Are The X-Men” to tease the status quo post Second Coming. The images (posted below) show what is presumably the new

Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men #600 – A Standard Deviations Special Edition

Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men #600 arrives in comic shops today and its release is enough to bring me out of self-imposed exile. In addition to bearing a landmark issue number, the book is also the long awaited finalé to Brian Bendis’ three year run on both Uncanny X-Men and All-New X-Men, and sports no less than twelve different covers.

My Latest Pull List – April 23rd, 2014

Seven new books on my list this week. 24 #1 – I’m totally ready for the television return of 24. Don’t know if a 24 book would be on my list if the show weren’t on its way back. BATMAN ETERNAL #3 – This title is causing me to rethink everything on my list. A year-long weekly

My Latest Pull List – March 12th, 2014

Pretty typical list this week with six new books for Wednesday. ALL-NEW X-FACTOR #4 – I’m already behind on this series as a result of the All-New Marvel Now double shipping schedule, but Peter David’s X-Factor is always going to be on my list. ALL-NEW X-MEN #24 – The Trial of Jean Grey continues. I’m enjoying this crossover with Guardians of the

My Latest Pull List – January 22nd, 2014

It looks like 2014 starts for real with a ton of books shipping this week. Eleven new books made it on to my list for this Wednesday. ALL-NEW INVADERS #1 – I’m not entirely sure I’ll be picking this up, but the All-New Marvel Now Point One story certainly piqued my interest. ALL-NEW X-FACTOR #2 – Forgot about the
