Monday Night Raw Warm Up for March 19th, 2012

John Cena broke out his old theme music, basketball jersey, and pad lock for his rap routine shredding the Rock last week. The two did not meet face to face, but after what they had to say it's highly likely they will tonight in Philadelphia.

Obviously the big story coming out of last week’s Raw in Cleveland, Ohio, was the “John Cena rap versus the Rock’s concert” in the town that boasts the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While neither performer is headed for induction, the musical battle didn’t quite go down the way the promos gave the impression it would be and it was a blessing. Most importantly, everyone got some air time with Cena and the Rock were limited to one segment each. As we head into tonight’s show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, expect a heavier focus on C.M. Punk and Chris Jericho and much clearer picture of the final names added to the card for WrestleMania XXVIII.

Shawn Michaels shares the good news that he'll be the Special Guest Referee in Triple H's Hell in a Cell match with the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVIII. Michaels will be a factor in the Undertaker maintaining his 19-0 undefeated streak at WrestleMania for a fourth straight year.

As expected, last week’s Monday Night Raw from Boston dedicated a lot of time to the Rock and John Cena with their upcoming match at WrestleMania XXVIII. Thankfully both men were in attendance to move things along, unlike this week’s Warm Up at MLD where we’re wishing Brian best of luck in “all of his future endeavors.” We’ve brought our old friend “The Jason” up from developmental to get ready for tonight’s Raw in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Rock made another "return" to WWE TV last week in Portland to promote his WrestleMania XXVIII match with John Cena. Given the hype surrounding that appearance, it's unlikely he'll make an unannounced showing tonight in Boston.

On the Road to WrestleMania, last week’s Raw from Portland, Oregon was far more mania than wrestling. While things build toward WWE’s biggest night of the year it’s understandable that there will be some amount of hype, but the show seemed to have an inordinate amount of recap videos and other promos. In the end it made up a significant portion of the show between the Rock and John Cena, Triple H and the Undertaker, and the horrendous looking trailer for Bending the Rules.

Tonight in Boston could be more of the same in Cena’s home town and Shawn Michaels returning for another week following his wwe.com bit about being better than Triple H.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for February 27th, 2012

Last week's Raw was overshadowed by a live Tuesday edition of Smackdown featuring a champion versus champion main event of C.M. Punk versus Daniel Bryan.

Last week’s Monday Night Raw from Minneapolis left a lot to be desired in both content and execution. The highlight of the night was Chris Jericho winning a 10-man number one contenders battle royal for a chance to challenge C.M. Punk for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 28. Where Raw was lacking, a special live Tuesday night edition of Smackdown more than compensated and we’ll discuss both shows as we head into tonight’s Raw featuring another return for The Rock in Portland, Oregon.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for February 20th, 2012

Chris Jericho should have a lot to say on Raw after leaving last night's Elimination Chamber match without being officially eliminated after a kick to the head by C.M. Punk.

Coming off last night’s Elimination Chamber par-per-view in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, tonight’s Raw from Minneapolis, Minnesota has a lot to make up for. Much of last night was taken up by Santino Marella parodying Rocky, John Laurinaitis blowing smoke, videos promoting John Cena versus The Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII, and backstage bits with Hornswaggle. The in ring content was rather limited to the two Chamber matches, a Divas title match, an unscheduled US Championship match and Kane versus Cena as the main event. With the biggest show of the year less than six weeks away it’s a shame that the bad outweighed the good at Elimination Chamber, particularly as the signature matches of the show were well put together.
