My Latest Pull List – January 15th, 2014

Six new books on my list this week.

  • ALL-NEW X-MEN #21 – The inclusion of X-23 with the original X-Men has been great. It’s tough to say whether this will be the first book I read this week or Uncanny.
  • AMAZING X-MEN #3 – It’s an X-heavy week and while I’m enjoying this series it hasn’t captured my attention like Bendis’ X-books.
  • MIRACLEMAN #1 – I’m on the fence with this reissue series but I’ll likely try the first one. I only know of this series and have never read the source material.
  • UNCANNY X-FORCE #16 – I caught up on Cable and X-Force over the holidays in anticipation of the Vendetta cross-over. Still have a few issues of Uncanny X-Force to catch up on.
  • UNCANNY X-MEN #16 – An issue focusing on Magneto. Chris Bachalo’s art may be what pushes this to the top of my list this week.
  • X-MEN LEGACY #22 – I’ve fallen many issues behind on this series. It’s probably going to be something I read in its entirety when the series wraps up in a month or two.

My Latest Pull List – January 8th, 2014

Six new books on my list to start the All-New Year.

  • ALL-NEW MARVEL NOW POINT ONE #1 – This anthology should be enough confirm if I’ve made the right choices about which All-New Marvel Now titles to pick up.
  • ALL-NEW X-FACTOR #1 – Perhaps the All-New title I’m most looking forward to. Peter David’s X-Factor has been a favorite for a long time.
  • AVENGERS WORLD #1 – A year ago, I’m not sure I would have believed I’d be picking up three Avengers series from Jonathan Hickman, but here I am.
  • CABLE AND X-FORCE #18 – Caught up on this series during the lighter weeks at the end of the year. Despite the Adversary coming off a bit silly, I’m enjoying this arc.
  • HALO ESCALATION #2 – Dark Horse’s Halo books have been fun so far, but the real appeal is where and how these books fit in with the games.
  • REVOLUTIONARY WAR ALPHA #1 – Andy Lanning’s take on Marvel’s UK characters is certainly worth a look and the Mark Brooks cover doesn’t hurt.

My Latest Pull List – December 24th, 2013

Only four new titles (and seemingly not many more than that shipping) on this Holiday list for Tuesday.

  • AVENGERS #24 – Looks like this might be the kickoff of the All-New Marvel Now era with 20 variant covers by my count. Curious to see where Jonathan Hickman‘s Avengers are headed coming out of Infinity.
  • FOREVER EVIL #4 – DC’s offerings for the week center squarely on this event series, only 5 variants for this one though.
  • JUSTICE LEAGUE #26 – A Forever Evil tie-in.
  • ORIGIN II #1 – Another 6 variants from Marvel on this one. Thankfully the regular cover by series artist Adam Kubert is my favorite of the bunch. The interior is sure to look great as well, but writer Kieron Gillen is what made this sequel to 2001’s tale of Wolverine’s earliest days a must buy for me.

My Latest Pull List – December 18th, 2013

Six new books on my list this Wednesday.

  • ALL-NEW X-MEN #20 – Can’t say enough good things about this series. Brandon Peterson’s art looked a bit off from his normally high standards last issue but it still looked decent enough.
  • BLACK SCIENCE #2 – The debut was excellent and had a dark Fantastic Four element to it. Definitely a book I’ll stick with for a while.
  • SAGA #17 – Fully expect this to be the top book this week.
  • UNCANNY AVENGERS #15 – Lots of things happened last issue. I don’t know how permanent they’ll be, but there should be a lot of fallout here.
  • UNCANNY X-FORCE #15 – Let myself fall behind on both X-Force titles and I’m still playing catch up.
  • X-MEN #8 – Somehow fell behind on this series as well following Battle of the Atom.

Eight new books on the list this Wednesday.

  • BATMAN #26 – Very happy to see this on the shipping list. The DC books I’m reading are on a dramatically different shipping schedule compared to Marvel and it makes me appreciate each issue that much more.
  • CABLE AND X-FORCE #17 – I’ve fallen a few issues behind on both X-Force series. The upcoming crossover should be enough to get both books back near the top of my reading list.
  • HALO ESCALATION #1 – The opening mini-series of Dark Horse’s foray into the Halo universe was good enough to bring me back for more. Of course, Brutes, the UNSC Infinity, and The Arbiter go a long way to capture my interest as well.
  • INDESTRUCTIBLE #1 – Promising a lead character that is neither super, nor particularly heroic was enough to get Jeff Kline’s new superhero series a look.
  • JUSTICE LEAGUE #25 – A Forever Evil tie-in. I’m intrigued by the Nightwing angle in this story.
  • LAZARUS #5 – Easily my favorite new ongoing series of 2013. Thrilled to see it return for its second arc.
  • UNCANNY X-MEN #15 – An Inhumanity tie-in. Bendis’ X-books feel even stronger coming out of Battle of the Atom.
  • WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #39 – Wolverine versus SHIELD intrigues me, but I need to catch up on #38 before reading this.
