Review: Powers of X #1

Posted by under *like |

The new era of the X-Men continues this week with the debut of Powers of X #1. This title connects directly to House of X they alternate shipping weeks each have their own place in introducing Jonathan Hickaman’s new vision for the X-Men.

Powers of X #1 delivers on the promise of revealing the untold history of Mutantkind as it moves through time from X-Men Year One to Year Ten, Year One Hundred and Year One Thousand. As you might imagine, the familiar meets all-new all-different concepts as we get our first glimpses of how The Dream, The World, The War, and Ascension all fit together.

The issue gives you everything you need to understand the scope of the story and there is certainly much more to learn at this point. X-Men fans will certainly recognize a number of details that add depth, but likely lead to more questions than answers for new and longtime readers alike.

Highly recommended for anyone that has ever been interested in Marvel’s X-Men.
