My Latest Pull List – June 19th, 2013

Posted by under *like, Comics |

Weekly comic books are a big part of my life and below is a list of what I’ll be picking up this Wednesday along with cover artwork and previews courtesy of Comixology’s Pull List app.

A big week with nine new books on my list. It’s bit of a shock to the system after a stretch of smaller ones.

  • AGE OF ULTRON #10 – Kinda glad this one is wrapping up. The solicit promises “the biggest secret in comics will be revealed.” I’m skeptical.
  • AVENGERS #14 – This book is great, but it feels like a lot of issues have shipped and we’re just getting small pieces of the big picture. I’ve said it before, I think I prefer pacing more in step with Hickman’s New Avengers, but his Avengers still falls near the top of my reading list every week that it ships.
  • CABLE AND X-FORCE #10 – I was very interested in seeing the Uncanny Avengers last issue, but after some struggles finding the book while out of town it’s still waiting to be read.
  • CAPTAIN MARVEL #13 – I really need to catch up on this title. I’d hoped to do it before the current crossover with Avengers Assemble, but it just didn’t happen. I hope the story is worth picking up the extra issues.
  • NEW AVENGERS #7 – I like the role Black Panther has played here as he joins the Illuminati. The confrontation between him and Namor should be great after the events of AvX.
  • UNCANNY AVENGERS #9 – I wasn’t crazy about the Age of Ultron tie-in issue of this series but that has more to do with how I’m feeling about Age of Ultron than anything Remender put into his story. As alternate reality stories go, it had a lot of fun things going on and we learned more about Kang and the Apocalypse Twins. I’ll be glad to return to the main plot, and the cover art is amazing.
  • X-FACTOR #258 – I wasn’t crazy about part of one of the End of X-Factor but I trust Peter David to pull everything together before the series concludes at #262.
  • X-FILES SEASON 10 #1 – I’m taking a chance on this. I was certainly a fan of the TV show, but it had driven me away entirely by the time it ended.
  • X-MEN: LEGACY #12 – Another eye catching Mike Del Mundo cover. I just need to make time to catch up on what’s been inside these issues for the last few months.

Check back every week to see what’s on My Latest Pull List and please share your thoughts on these titles and everything you’re reading this week in the comments.
