My Latest Pull List – June 26th, 2013

Posted by under *like, Comics |

Weekly comic books are a big part of my life and below is a list of what I’ll be picking up this Wednesday along with cover artwork and previews courtesy of Comixology’s Pull List app.

Twelve (?!?!) new books on my list for this Wednesday. A large number seem to have an “X” in the title. The last Wednesday of the month normally has a lot of titles fall into it, but this is ridiculous.

  • AGE OF ULTRON #10AI – I’m not at all sure that I’ll be bringing this home with me, but I feel like I need to at least check it out. I have a feeling it’s going to provide more of an ending than issue #10.
  • ALL NEW X-MEN #13 – I honestly can’t wait for this. The preview promises that the slow burn we’ve been seeing is about to become an inferno.
  • BATMAN SUPERMAN #1 – I’m not certain about this book but with Greg Pak writing and Jae Lee art I don’t see how I can’t at least try it out.
  • DOCTOR WHO: PRISONERS OF TIME #6 – After reading an advance preview, it looks like this series is going to start delivering more of the bigger story spanning the Doctor’s timeline going forward. It’s a really fun issue and I’m looking forward to posting a review later today.
  • GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #4 – I almost missed this title on my list this week. I’m not enjoying it as much as the last volume of the book by Dan Abnett and Any Lanning, but Brian Bendis has been keeping me interested so far.
  • JUSTICE LEAGUE #21 – I really need to catch up on this title. It’s about to become the third series I’m following to hit a major story arc that I can’t dive right into.
  • NOVA #5 – I though I’d dropped this title at #3, but it found it’s way back in after seeing that the first arc/origin of the new Nova was ending here. I’ll likely only get it if I can find #4 on the shelf as well.
  • UNCANNY X-FORCE #7 – I like where this series is heading. Spiral is a huge draw for me, but seeing the whole cast come together has been great.
  • UNCANNY X-MEN #7 – Feels like a lot of time has passed since issue #6. I’m enjoying the Limbo story well enough, but I’m anxious for things to move on. Hopefully this issue will change my mind.
  • THE WAKE #2 – I still haven’t gotten to the first issue of this new series from Scott Snyder and Sean Murphy but I’ll take a look at the second issue today. A $2.99 price tag and a 10-issue run make it more appealing.
  • WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #32 – Need to catch up on this book as well.
  • X-MEN #2 – This series is off to a great start. Brian Wood and Olivier Coipel have set it near the top of my reading list after one issue. I’m not sure the adjectiveless title does enough to distinguish it.

Check back every week to see what’s on My Latest Pull List and please share your thoughts on these titles and everything you’re reading this week in the comments.
