My Latest Pull List – March 12th, 2014

Posted by under *like, Comics |

Pretty typical list this week with six new books for Wednesday.

  • ALL-NEW X-FACTOR #4 – I’m already behind on this series as a result of the All-New Marvel Now double shipping schedule, but Peter David’s X-Factor is always going to be on my list.
  • ALL-NEW X-MEN #24 – The Trial of Jean Grey continues. I’m enjoying this crossover with Guardians of the Galaxy and Brian Bendis is providing some great moments. Unfortunately I can’t quite get past the questions I have about how Corsair is back and why the Shi’Ar would go after Jean now. It would help if Gladiator (or anyone else) would justify that Jean’s return is an issue because of Phoenix activity during AvX or Battle of the Atom or really anything else.
  • BATMAN #29 – It’s not that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy the Batman Eternal preview last month, but I’m certainly looking forward to the next chapter of Zero Year. I don’t know if I can commit to a weekly Batman Eternal book, but I’ll continue with Snyder and Capullo’s Batman monthly as long as they’re on it.
  • CAPTAIN MARVEL #1 – The last Captain Marvel relaunch just missed the start of the Marvel Now wave. Hopefully an All-New Marvel Now relaunch allows it go for a decent run. Kelly Sue DeConnick’s writing is right where it needs to be and David Lopez is a solid regular artist.
  • X-FORCE #2 – Still not sure about this latest X-Force relaunch but the first issue was an interesting start. The dynamic between Cable and Psylocke has a lot of appeal, but what happened to Hope?!
  • X-MEN LEGACY #300 – I’m way behind on the Legion-fronted volume of this book, but I won’t let that stop me from jumping right into this. Mike Carey alone makes this a must buy.

Weekly comic books are a big part of my life and I regularly post what I’ll be picking up each Wednesday along with cover artwork and previews courtesy of Comixology’s Pull List app.

Check back every week to see what’s on My Latest Pull List and share your thoughts what you’re reading this week.
