Monday Night Raw Warm Up for April 9th, 2012

Here comes the pain! Brock Lesnar returned to Raw last Monday and went straight at WWE mainstay John Cena.

The night after WrestleMania did not disappoint last Monday as Raw featured some memorable moments with an appearance by the Rock, the debut of Lord Tensai, and of course the return of Brock Lesnar. Unlike last year’s follow up to the big dance, we thankfully did not see any matches booked for WrestleMania 29 in New Jersey, but we did get plenty of possibilities for what we might see as we begin the slow build to next year. While it’s likely we’ll be seeing Lesnar again tonight, the Rock’s contributions last week suggest it might be a while before his next appearance.

REVIEW: Avengers X-Sanction #4

Posted by under *like, Comics | Leave a Comment |

With Marvel Comics’ Avengers vs. X-Men event officially kicking off with “AvX launch parties” across the country tonight, we’re taking a look at the finale to one of the series promoted as a lead in, Avengers: X-Sanction. X-Sanction didn’t do as much to set things up as we’d expected, but Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness’ story was fairly entertaining and did succeed at altering the status quo for Cable, Hope and Cyclops and bringing them face to face with the Avengers. We were highly suspect of how this series would play out, and it appears it exceeded both of our expectations.

Spoilers for Avengers: X-Sanction will follow.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for April 2nd, 2012

WrestleMania XXVIII set a Sun Life Stadium attendance record at 78,363 last night.

The biggest night of the wrestling year has come and gone, at least until tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The night after WrestleMania has a history of breaking new ground, and there are a lot of new directions possible for some superstars that came up short last night like Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes and of course, John Cena. There’s also the possibility that we’ll see The Rock, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels for one more night along with regular roster and the debut of Lord Tensai that we’ve seen teased in last few week. As John Laurinaitis takes over as the permanent General Manager of both Raw and Smackdown, WWE Champion C.M. Punk is likely to see more obstacles in his championship reign and he may not have seen the last of Chris Jericho.

Monday Night Raw comes live from Miami on the heels of WrestleMania XXVIII with the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony as a lead in. We’ll get into what went down at the “Showcase of the Immortals” and what we expect for tonight.

WrestleMania XXVIII begins in just a few short hours from Miami, Florida. We’ve been talking about the build up for weeks, and with the biggest night of the wrestling year finally here, it’s time to take a hard look at what’s on the card and see how this event stacks up with its predecessors. The Rock versus John Cena has dominated the promotion for this year’s show but it’s not where our attention is focused as C.M. Punk versus Chris Jericho is the clearly the match we’re most looking forward to tonight.

Read on for our picks for each of the nine matches scheduled along with a look back at where last week’s Raw from Altlanta, Georgia, left things heading into the next entry in the “Super Bowl of Sports Entertainment.”
