Microsoft presented a long list of things to look forward to at their E3 keynote yesterday, but nothing stood out more to me than the announcement of Halo 4. I’m a big fan of the Halo franchise, and it’s great to hear that 343 Studios will not only be producing another installment of the series featuring the Master Chief and Cortana but a new trilogy.  The exciting teaser (see below, I’ve watched it at least a dozen times already) suggests we’re about to learn a lot more about the ancient Forerunners of the Halo universe and many of the hidden datapads in Halo: Reach indicated this might be a new direction for the series.

I had gotten increasingly more anxious/excited to see the movie leading into this weekend and while my initial reaction was full of very mixed feelings, I can say with certainty it’s worth seeing.

Spoilers ahead.
