My Latest Pull List – October 9th, 2013

Posted by under *like, Comics |

Six new books on my list this week. Not sure how much time there will be for reading with New York Comic Con starting on Thursday.

  • ASTONISHING X-MEN #68 – I’m not exactly sad to see this series go even though Marjorie Liu has earned a lot of acclaim for her work on the title. I think Astonishing never really recaptured my attention after the shipping delays/cancellation it went though around thirty issues ago.
  • BATMAN #24 – I’m a big fan of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Batman, but I didn’t realize I would miss it so much during DC’s Villains Month. Can’t wait to get back to Zero Year.
  • HALO INITIATION #3 – Dark Horse’s foray into the Halo universe is off to a solid start and I’m curious to see where exactly on the timeline this first miniseries will end.
  • INFINITY #4 – I haven’t had to wait for this to return to shelves as long as Batman, but last week felt a bit strange without any Infinity books on my list.
  • UNCANNY X-FORCE #12 – Spiral was a big part of what drew me to this series and I’m glad to see an issue focusing specifically on her. Ramon Perez’s interiors look really interesting and the Kris Anka cover looks great.
  • X-MEN #6 – A Battle of the Atom tie-in. This whole crossover has been a huge hit for me, and getting an installment every week is a huge plus. I recently saw Battle of the Atom described on Comic Book Resources as “the perfect X-Men 50th Anniversary story: dozens of different X-Men time-travelling and obsessing over Jean Grey.” I can’t disagree with any of that. It is perfect.

Weekly comic books are a big part of my life and I regularly post what I’ll be picking up each Wednesday along with cover artwork and previews courtesy of Comixology’s Pull List app

Check back every week to see what’s on My Latest Pull List and share your thoughts what you’re reading this week.
