I’ve made no secret of my appreciation of the MLB At Bat app audio feeds for the iPhone. As we head into a decisive Game 5 in the ALDS matchup between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Texas Rangers, I wanted to reflect on the things I’ll miss now that I’ve had the opportunity (and a reason) to listen to a Rangers radio broadcast:

Every post-season offensive accomplishment being the first time the Rangers have done it in their franchise history (or at least since 1996)
The fact that they’ve doubled the franchise’s total post-seasons wins already this year
How they’re the only team to have never won a post-season series
Anti-gang ads and tips on how to avoid pack robberies
My sudden desire to attend the “Dallas Business School”
So many great things about Jeff Francoeur

Of course this is assuming the Rangers are eliminated tonight. Either way I’m certainly going to enjoy listening to whatever local broadcast is available over the national announcers in the next round, because I want to hear about the non-Yankee players on the field too.
