Monday Night Raw Warm Up for December 19th, 2011

Fallout from last night

WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs from Baltimore, Maryland wrapped up the 2011 pay-per-view calendar last night. Unfortunately, last week’s Raw did very little to put the event over instead showcasing WWE’s annual Slammy Awards. The result was more of recap for the past year leaving TLC to stand on its own. It’s a shame since TLC was a solid pay-per-view among this year’s offerings. Raw with the Slammys was a show that would have been far more appropriate after the event and closer to the end of the year. Looking back on last week in more detail, I think we’re both looking forward to the start of 2012, getting on the official “Road to WrestleMania XXVIII,” and January’s Royal Rumble. All of that begins tonight in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for Survivor Series (11/20/2011)

Posted by under *dislike, Television | Leave a Comment |

You’d think a three-hour Monday Night Raw would leave us with three times the number of things to talk about. In actuality, there weren’t a lot of highlights in Boston, Massachusetts beyond the welcome return of Mick Foley and of course, the Rock. The commercials for last week’s “Raw gets Rocked” ran for weeks and showed clips of “memorable moments, Hollywood hits and explosive encounters” from the show’s decades-long history. Unfortunately, it’s hard to find anything likely to be worthy of that highlight reel.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for Vengeance (10/23/2011)

Last week WWE presented Monday Night Raw from Mexico City for the first time in the show’s long history and it’s hard to see the result as anything but a success in terms of pleasing the live audience. Watching at home was enjoyable as the show was very straightforward and stood above a lot of recent weeks. As we head into the annual Vengeance pay-per-view event tonight, most of the participants on the card were showcased nicely even if some of the matches and stipulations seemed to be coming late in the game.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for Hell in a Cell (10/2/2011)

WWE presents one of the newer additions to their pay-per-view line up tonight with the third annual Hell in a Cell event live from New Orleans, Louisiana. There aren’t many matches announced for the card, so last week’s Monday Night Raw in Kansas City, Missouri spent a lot of time building up the triple threat main event that sees Alberto Del Rio and C.M. Punk challenge John Cena for the WWE Championship. Three competitors in the cage is a first for the Hell in a Cell match and the new twist is likely a consequence of having an event dedicated to a match that was once reserved for only the most heated of rivalries.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for Night of Champions (September 18th, 2011)

Before we get to tomorrow’s Monday Night Raw emanating live from Cleveland, OH, we’ll have to go through WWE’s next pay-per-view, Night of Champions. The show starts in a few short hours and follows right on the heels of last week’s Raw from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. As usual, that show spent a fair bit of time setting up the matches for tonight’s card, most of which are championship matches as the show’s title suggests, but it also featured an appearance by WWE Hall of Famer, Bret “Hitman” Hart. This certainly seemed to make the hometown crowd (and me particularly) happy and while we won’t be discussing it in any detail, WWE also brought back Edge and Trish Stratus for last week’s Smackdown in Toronto.
