Last night, WWE Vengeance took over screens around the world via pay-per-view. A card stacked with championship matches surprisingly didn’t see any titles change hands. This doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to talk about heading into tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw as tensions will be running high among John Cena, C.M. Punk, Triple H, The Miz, R-Truth and the returning Kevin Nash.

Last week WWE presented Monday Night Raw from Mexico City for the first time in the show’s long history and it’s hard to see the result as anything but a success in terms of pleasing the live audience. Watching at home was enjoyable as the show was very straightforward and stood above a lot of recent weeks. As we head into the annual Vengeance pay-per-view event tonight, most of the participants on the card were showcased nicely even if some of the matches and stipulations seemed to be coming late in the game.

We’re counting down the hours to another edition of WWE’s Monday Night Raw and a great way to prepare is taking a look back at what we saw last week. Listening to what WWE has had to say about it, last week’s Monday Night Raw from Lafayette, Louisiana was a historic night that ushered in the “Walk Out” era as most of the Raw roster cast a no confidence vote in Triple H’s tenure as COO. It was admittedly a bit surreal seeing the assembled referees, announcers, and wrestlers leave the ringside area with only Triple H remaining when all was said and done. Unfortunately, it was a poorly executed segment that’s only “historic” because we’re being told it’s historic with less than a week having passed.

Tonight’s show in Oklahoma City is being touted as the next piece of history as Triple H tries to pick up the pieces and move forward with only John Cena, Randy Orton, Big Show, CM Punk and Sheamus officially scheduled to appear.

WWE’s third annual Hell in a Cell event was held last night in New Orleans. Again, neither of us watched the pay-per-view, but recaps of the show’s results are readily available. I actually followed live updates throughout the night and was happy to see that additional matches were added to the five that were announced before the show. A lot happened last night that is sure to be a part of tonight’s Monday Night Raw at the Cajundome in Layfayette, Louisiana.

We’ll be talking openly about where everything things stands heading into tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw.
