REVIEW: The Manhattan Projects #5

Jonathan Hickman and Nick Pitarra’s The Manhattan Projects always leaves me with a lot of questions. Chief among them: How does this series keep getting better? Issue #4 featured an encounter between the Projects‘ scientists and some unexpected and unfriendly extraterrestrials, and issue #5 gives a clear indication of how far this story can go. It’s clear things are moving into uncharted territory, but in actuality Hickman has been leading us there all along. The universe should be very afraid.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for July 16th, 2012

John Cena won his first Money in the Bank contract last night and promises big news tonight on Raw.

As the epic 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw get ever closer, last week’s show was nearly a complete disappointment. Perhaps more disappointing is the state of the WWE as it comes off the annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view one year after C.M. It’s slightly earlier today and comic book news Web Sites are beginning to post articles suggesting something big happens in Batman #10 – the latest chapter of Scott Snyder’s Night of the Owls crossover. Seeing as how I haven’t taken my lunch break yet and that we live in an amazing era of technologically, I decide that I might as well just download and read the comic before some idiot online spoils in a headline whatever it is that happens in this issue that I’m sure will change Batman forever or at least until Tony Daniel gets the opportunity to taint it. I’m sorry. That was off topic, unnecessary and just mean.

REVIEW: Snow White and the Huntsman

Posted by under *dislike, Movies | Leave a Comment |

Snow White and the Huntsman is the latest live action retelling of the Snow White fairy tale to come out in the last year following Julia Roberts’ Mirror Mirror and ABC’s Once Upon a Time. From all of the promotional materials I had seen leading up to the film’s release, I was expecting it to be a grounded, Batman Begins-esque take on the fable with Snow White reimagined as a warrior. To my surprise, most of the more fantastic elements of the story are still present, which I actually found refreshing. In the end, however, the movie still manages to disappoint.
