Monday Night Raw Warm Up for February 13th, 2012

Chris Jericho was back in typical form both on the mic and in the ring last week even though he saw the tables turned on his trolling by WWE Champion C.M. Punk.

Despite a lot of attention to a possible WrestleMania rematch between the Undertake and Triple H, last week’s Raw managed to shine the spotlight around quite a bit throughout the night. The twelve Elimination Chamber participants from Raw and Smackdown were in action along with a host of Divas and this year’s Royal Rumble winner, Sheamus. Hopefully that kind of balance will continue on the last live show before this Sunday’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

The Walking Dead returns to round out season two

Posted by under *like, Television | Leave a Comment |

In our previous discussions of AMC’s The Walking Dead, we’ve been very careful not to spoil details from the Image Comics series the show is based on. With nearly one-hundred issues published, there’s a great deal to mine for television but the two series are becoming more and more distinct from one another. The result is both maintaining the sense that anything can happen and no one is safe that the comic series is known for.

As the show returns tonight for the remainder of its second season, we’ll digest everything we’ve seen so far and try to make sense of where things are heading. Spoilers for all forms of The Walking Dead will follow.

The Undertaker returned after nearly a year to challenge Triple H for a rematch at the "Super Bowl of Sports Entertainment," WrestleMania XXVIII.

With the 2012 Royal Rumble in the rear view mirror, we’re well on the Road to WreslteMania XXVIII. Last week’s Raw in Kansas City, Missouri, gave some strong indications where things are headed as Chris Jericho performed a sneak attack on WWE Champion C.M. Punk and the Undertaker returned to challenge Triple H. No decision has been made on who this year’s Rumble winner Sheamus will choose to take on with his guaranteed title match yet, but we’re sure to get more on all these fronts tonight in Oklahoma City.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for January 30th, 2012

Sheamus emerged with an unexpected victory in the 25th Annual Royal Rumble match last night, earning a championship match at WrestleMania XXVIII.

The WWE Royal Rumble is the one event other than WrestleMania that is always on our watch list. Last night’s 25th anniversary Royal Rumble show from St. Louis, Missouri, certainly had its ups and downs, and overall it was about average among the installments in the event’s history. A lot of effort went into what were meant to be funny entries in the Rumble match and a layer of intrigue was added to this year’s feature battle royal when it was announced that “for the first time, every WWE Superstar is eligible to compete” during the promo package. Neither of us were sure exactly what that meant, but some of our speculation as well as all of last night’s results can be found inside as we get ready for Raw tonight from Kansas City, Missouri.

Saying goodbye to NBC’s Chuck

Posted by under *like, Television | Join The Discussion |

It’s sad to see what was once my favorite show go away as tonight brings the final episodes of NBC’s Chuck. I’m a fan of the series, but it has run its course. I think I haven’t talked much about the show here on MLD because on some level I just haven’t found it as thrilling as I did in the first few years. Some of the excitement is gone along with some of the fun, but really I think the show suffered from losing its focus in trying to generate too many episodes over the last two years. There were also episodes that suffered from less production and smaller budgets and they really stood out from most of the series. In its final year, the show was trimmed to just 13 and it has radically renewed my interest. I’m really looking forward to tonight’s finale in a pair of episodes ominously titled, Chuck versus Sarah and Chuck versus the Goodbye.
