Monday Night Raw Warm Up for November 7th, 2011

Last week’s Halloween edition of Raw had a lot going on. The live show was held in Atlanta, Georgia, the site of WrestleMania earlier this year and fans were treated to a main event rematch between John Cena and The Miz. The show also featured special guests The Muppets who got involved backstage and in the ring!

We’re somewhat divided with regard to our feelings on last week’s guest stars appearing on the show, but we agree that we’d both like to see a quality show that gets by on its own merits without The Muppets or the next week’s special attraction, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Spinning out of the annual Vengeance pay-per-view, the action continued on WWE’s Monday Night Raw in Austin, Texas. The show seemed to suffer from some poor choices with its use of air time, but overall it was an entertaining show. Punk, Triple H, The Miz, R-Truth and the returning Kevin Nash.

Last week WWE presented Monday Night Raw from Mexico City for the first time in the show’s long history and it’s hard to see the result as anything but a success in terms of pleasing the live audience. Watching at home was enjoyable as the show was very straightforward and stood above a lot of recent weeks. As we head into the annual Vengeance pay-per-view event tonight, most of the participants on the card were showcased nicely even if some of the matches and stipulations seemed to be coming late in the game.

We’re counting down the hours to another edition of WWE’s Monday Night Raw and a great way to prepare is taking a look back at what we saw last week. The show from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was touted to be “historic” as we got a glimpse of what WWE would look like with most of its talent and staff walking out on Chief Operations Officers, Triple H. I don’t know that any history was made, but a show that had potential to take things in an interesting direction really just exposed many of WWE’s weaknesses.
