So I haven’t bought a lot of new music lately, probably because I’m behind the times and have been busy, but that changed this past weekend. I picked up 3 discs for 9.99 each at FYE, which, incidentally, is the least I’ve paid at FYE for cds ever. Here we go with some short and sweet:

The World Cup is over and could not have ended with a worse game. Holland versus Spain was not a showcase of the best soccer has to offer. That would go to the third place game between Uruguay and Germany. Pretty much any game Uruguay played was great soccer. Even the game against Ghana when their striker, Luiz Suarez, used his hand to keep out a sure Ghana goal in the 120th minute. Both Holland and Spain played boring, diving soccer. Just embarrassing. Yet, Spain is your World Cup champion. I guess it is fitting considering it was not really a memorable World Cup.

Once again, this was an episode I was sure I was not going to like after watching the preview. I’m happy to say that I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s one of the stronger stand-alone episodes of the season and looks to be the last chance to catch your breath before the season finale.

As you probably DON’T know. Lady Gaga is performing on the Today show, today. Actually right now. It’s a record turn out for the Today Show Toyota Concert Series. Nearly 20,000 people at their last count. People slept on the street for this event. Of course, with my sleepless night, I was up in time, so I have coverage.   Read more of this article »

This issue of X-Men: Second Coming was simply amazing. There’s no question about it, it’s a 5 out of 5 on a distraction scale from 1 to 5. It’s difficult to even try to consider the book as a single entity given that it’s Chapter 13 of 14, but I can’t imagine someone reading it and not wanting to know more. On that note, I’m going to spoil everything.
