Monday Night Raw Warm Up for January 16th, 2012

That t-shirt was asking the same question we were last Monday as Zach Ryder and Eve attempted to flee from Kane.

Last week’s Monday Night Raw from Corpus Christi, Texas had more Kane and John Cena than you could ask for and tonight is likely to be more of the same. Last week also featured a lot of Smackdown promotion to the point where it was arguably half of the show. It’s nice to see some unfamiliar faces on Monday nights, but it seemed to come at the expense of some of the Superstars that have been carrying the show from week to week. Promotion also seemed to begin in earnest for the 25th annual Royal Rumble last week, and I expect we’ll be seeing a lot of bodies going over the top rope tonight in Anaheim, California.

The display promised that each ball opened like one of those plastic eggs you see around Easter time and that within them would be a tiny Marvel figure. The line is called Marvel Heroics and among the photographs on the display were Captain America and Hulk. The balls were priced at just $.97 so I figured I’d buy one. At that price, why not!?

The latest chapter in Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness’ Avengers: X-Sanction series centering on the return of the X-Men’s Cable hit stores last Wednesday and it’s right in line with issue #1: lots of action, little explanation, and some confusing bits thrown in for good measure. It’s a book that’s gotten it’s fair share of publicity as well as criticism, and we’re back for a look at Avengers X-Sanction #2.

Spoilers for the issue and series that’s touted to lay the groundwork for this Summer’s Avengers vs. X-Men will follow.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for January 9th, 2012

Chris Jericho made a big return to WWE last week and got a lot of people talking by saying nothing.

This week’s Monday Night Raw from Corpus Christi, Texas, could be a wild one after the return of Chris Jericho last week in Memphis. That show had a lot of build up for the mysterious “return” of a Superstar after weeks of promotional videos. I don’t think anyone here came away disappointed with the revelation of Jericho, but his silence after hitting the ring choosing instead to continually play to the live crowd was the real surprise.
