New Muppets Movie Due Christmas 2011

Posted by under *like, Movies | Leave a Comment |

I find it to be a major failing on the part of this website that we have written very little about The Muppets since we’ve launched. Now, granted there’s been very little to actually report on beyond some popular YouTube videos and rumors of a Jason Segel-written movie off in the distance. That movie has been talked about for so long with no news of it receiving an official green light that I had come to assume it would never happen.

That was until today when it was reported on the Muppets official Facebook page (what? You don’t follow the Muppets on Facebook?) that the movie is already filming and that Entertainment Weekly was publishing an exclusive sneak peak.

Doylestown Zombie Crawl

This past Sunday, Cyborg One in Doylestown hosted a Zombie Crawl.  Of course I had to participate in this, especially after seeing that there would be a costume contest and the winner would get a copy of The Walking Dead Comendium One and a $50 Gift Certificate… I started brainstorming for a zombie costume immediately.  I soon knew that this was the perfect use for my 8-year-0ld wedding gown that has been sitting in a box in the garage for a while.  And there was blood. Lots and lots of blood.

This is where I vote

I’ve always thought that my local polling location was pretty awesome since it’s a row home basement that’s also a Baptist church. As amazing as that is compared to voting in some middle school cafeteria, it really has nothing on some of the polling locations featured on Ryan Donnell’s Behind the Curtain site.

I can’t decide if I like the idea of voting in an auto repair shop or a funeral home more! Thanks to the City Paper and my old friend and newsman Jonathan Poet for pointing me toward this.

Imagine being in a crowd of people 200,000+ strong, and feeling completely safe. Not only do you feel safe, but people are helpful, happy, and holding up hilarious signs everywhere you look. There are people as far as the eye can see, and everyone is awesome.

This was the scene Saturday in Washington D.C. at Jon Stewart’s Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear which drew an enormous crowd and was such an incredible experience to attend.

REVIEW: Action Comics #894

Posted by under *mixed, Comics | Join The Discussion |

Before we get into our discussion about Action Comics #894, I figure some background information is probably necessary. Pretty much two years worth of spoilers lie ahead… You’ve been warned.

The Superman books have had a weird few years.  What with him not appearing in any of his ongoing titles during the New Krypton storyline, and now with superstar writer J. Michael Straczynski taking over Superman and deciding that the perfect follow up to that storyline is to have Superman walk across America as if he were Forest Gump or something. Of course if you’re going to have Superman just walk for however long that garbage is going to go on, you certainly don’t need multiple books chronicling it. As a result, Superman remains absent from his original flagship title Action Comics, and that book now stars Lex Luthor.
