The Quotable Doctor Who

Posted by under *like, Television |

Doctor Who has always had a special place in my world and I’ve had a great time talking about here on MLD. When I was reviewing and speculating on the full run of episodes from Season Five last year, I made it a point to add quotes from the show to the tags for the articles. They probably escaped most readers notice (and it isn’t really the most conventional use of the tags feature), but including them has actually brought a lot of readers to the site. It’s even come to the attention of some that I’ve neglected to include them when reviewing Season Six.

Never one to disappoint, I had to rectify this situation.

In anticipation of the show’s return for the rest of Season Six this Saturday, I re-watched the first half of the season to pick out what I consider some of the the most memorable and meaningful lines spoken by The Doctor and his companions. Everything can be found below, but not only did I go back and take in all of the goodness Steven Moffat, Matt Smith and the Doctor Who team have given us so far this year, I also found this amazing BBC America trailer that debuted at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. I’ve watched it about a hundred times.

I honestly can’t decide what part I like most: River Song with the eye patch? The return of the Doctor’s roommate Craig or any of the characters from last season that appear? Amy Pond – Samurai? The crazy garden? The Weeping Angels? The three astronauts teleporting in? Exploding Cybermen heads? Lake Silencio? Is that a Dalek eye?

Doctor Who returns on August 27th at 9PM on BBC America. If the trailer wasn’t thrilling enough, here’s a prequel BCC America released for this week’s episode Let’s Kill Hitler.
