Posted by under *like, Comics | Leave a Comment |

Superman_Unchained_2013_1_Jim_Lee_coverIt’s been a while since we’ve talked, but a week where both Batman and Superman are at the top of my reading list must mean something special. Superstar writer Scott Snyder has been delivering on every level with his New 52 Batman, and now he’s getting the chance to work with Image Comics founder and DC  Comics co-publisher Jim Lee to launch Superman Unchained. The debut issue coincides not only with the much anticipated return of Superman to the big screen in Man of Steel, but also with the release of Snyder’s latest Batman event, Zero Year.

KevinMLD and I have now had a chance to read both books and it’s time to see how they hold up.

This month (as the cover suggests) Wonder Woman was in the spotlight joining Batman, Green Lantern, Superman and the Flash, but a fair bit of attention was given to young Vic Stone as well.

Chris Claremont and Jim Lee’s X-Men #1 20th Anniversary Redux

Posted by under *like, Comics | Leave a Comment |

Last week, we spent some time talking about Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s Justice League #2. Regardless of what people think of DC Comics’ New 52 relaunch or this retelling of the first meeting of their greatest heroes, the book is gorgeous. Justice League #1 was a top seller and there’s no reason to think the second issue won’t be near the top of the list as well. It may even be the best selling title since Chris Claremont and Lee’s X-Men #1 from 1991, which made it even more surreal seeing them on the shelves together last Wednesday.
