Chris Claremont and Jim Lee’s X-Men #1 20th Anniversary Redux

Last week, we spent some time talking about Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s Justice League #2. Regardless of what people think of DC Comics’ New 52 relaunch or this retelling of the first meeting of their greatest heroes, the book is gorgeous. Justice League #1 was a top seller and there’s no reason to think the second issue won’t be near the top of the list as well. It may even be the best selling title since Chris Claremont and Lee’s X-Men #1 from 1991, which made it even more surreal seeing them on the shelves together last Wednesday.

REVIEW: Incredible Hulk #1

Posted by under *like, Comics | Leave a Comment |

Today sees the release of Marvel Comics’ new Incredible Hulk #1 by Jason Aaron and Mark Silvestri. Another New York Comic Con has come and gone (10/13/11-10/16/11) and KevinMLD and I made the trip up the New Jersey Turnpike for two days of the four-day show to see what this year had to offer. Once again, the event was massive and well attended with an almost overwhelming number of offerings from across the spectrum of comic book genre entertainment. It’s safe to say we both came away with a better feeling this year and I’d imagine that’s true for most of the other 100,000 plus in attendance over the four days at the Javits Center.

New York Comic Con 2011 X-Men: Regenesis panel

Posted by under *like, Comics | Join The Discussion |

We’ve spent a good bit of time talking about this Fall’s X-Men: Regenesis here at MLD. Lots of changes are in store for the X-line, and the final day of this year’s New York Comic Con saw nearly all of the creators from the titles involved sitting for a panel talking with fans about what to expect. I almost skipped this presentation altogether after the difficulty of getting into any panels at last year’s show, but thankfully there were plenty of seats in the audience even if they had run out of room on the stage.
