REVIEW: Justice League #3

The latest issue of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s “New 52” Justice League series entered month three of DC Comics’ line-wide relaunch. The title has become one of the best selling in years with two of the companies top creators telling a reimagined first meeting of DC’s mightiest heroes. This month (as the cover suggests) Wonder Woman was in the spotlight joining Batman, Green Lantern, Superman and the Flash, but a fair bit of attention was given to young Vic Stone as well.

REVIEW: Generation Hope #13 (X-Men Regenesis)

James Asmus’ first issue of Generation Hope taking over for Kieron Gillen (who gave fans permission to buy the book since he didn’t have any of his own on the shelf this week) manages to strike a nice balance familiarizing readers with the principal characters and their mission, bringing new characters into the mix, and launching the team into their first adventure following Schism. Ibraim Roberson also enters as the book’s regular artist and all told the Regenesis rebranding has been very good to this title.

Monday Night Raw Warm Up for November 14th, 2011

For a UK show, last week’s Monday Night Raw from Liverpool lacked any real hometown favorites on the card. This is strange considering past shows from England and the way hometowns have been recurring theme this year. C.M. Punk’s match with John Cena at Money in the Bank revolved around being held in Chicago this Summer. Tonight’s Raw is in Cena’s hometown of Boston and will feature the “return” the Rock. The Rock will be his tag team partner this Sunday at Survivor Series, but his opponent at WrestleMania 28 which will be held in the Rock’s hometown of Miami. With Wade Barrett getting a lot of attention lately, I expected him to at least appear on last week’s show. In fairness, Barrett did get a huge victory over Randy Orton on the UK edition of Smackdown, but we’re here to talk about Raw, where WWE decided to push newcomer Mason Ryan of Wales instead.

Fall 2011 Network TV – Friday’s New Hits and Misses

Each day this week we’ve been looking at the new shows that joined the network TV lineup this Fall. In our final installment, we’ll be focusing on both Friday, notorious as the night genre shows go to die, and Sunday, which in recent years has been claimed by cable networks as their spotlight night. Today we’ll spend some time talking about Showtime’s Homeland, ABC’s Pan Am and Once Upon a Time, as well as NBC’s Grimm.
